I just experienced something that could be the next big thing in the culinary scene this summer and it focuses on sustainability. The James Beard Foundation and the Mushroom Council have announced the Blended Burger Project.
This summer, the hottest burger is a blend. Chefs nationwide will be participating in the Blended Burger Project – an initiative to drive attention to ‘blended burgers’ – that is, blending finely chopped mushrooms with meat for improved flavor, nutrition and sustainability.
One of my favorite community events in Seattle is #SMLunch hosted by The Fearey Group. What makes this event so inviting and beneficial is the people. People make the world go around and the more people you know, the more opportunities you’ll get in your personal and work life. The events happen monthly and include marketers, brand ambassadors and community managers from around the city to get offline and meet face-to-face!
“You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.” —Brihadaranyaka Upanishad IV.4.5
Last week, I attended a Taste Washington preview event at the beautiful Beecher’s Loft located in the heart of Pike Place Market.
This year’s Taste Washington 2016 hosted by Visit Seattle and Washington State Wine is going to be bigger and filled with new events. Taste Washington is the nation’s largest single-region wine and food event and will be taking place on March 31- April 3, 2016, at various venues throughout Seattle. Tickets to all four days of events are available at www.tastewashington.org.

Rico Versoza, the chef and owner has taken his skills in writing and directing short films and now exerting it into his new passion for cooking and sharing his stories through on a plate.
You may be surprised to learn that people miss on average 70 percent of their feeds. As Instagram has grown, it’s become harder to keep up with all the photos and videos people share. This means you often don’t see the posts you might care about the most.
